Certifications, Insurance and Relevant Laws
My Drone and myself are registered with the Civil Aviation Authority, which means that I have read through all the relevant laws and guidelines for drone operation and passed a theory test confirming I understand these laws. This also means I am liable for all flights I do and the drone itself.
I am insured by the maufacturer of the drone, DJI. I have DJI Care Express which allows me to replace my drone for a small fee if I lose or crash it. Any client of mine won't have to worry about me crashing my drone while shooting one of their properties because the worst case scenario is that I get it replaced and receive a new one in a week or so.
My drone is the DJI Mini 3 Pro. This drone is below 250g, meaning flights are permitted within residential, commercial, industrial and recreational areas. This makes it perfect for real estate photography because it is the most quiet and smallest drone you can get with the quality needed to effectively capture images of property, so neighbours and bystanders shouldn't be affected by the operation.
